Cook/Dishwasher/Waiter/Server for Resident Dining

Key Responsibilities

At this time, we are seeking a Waiter/Server to join our team!

Responsibilities   – Varies based on position – listed below for wait staff:

  • Takes resident(s) meal orders and serves meals correctly and efficiently.
  • Delivers trays to rooms of ill residents.
  • Sets tables with napkins and tableware.
  • Refills condiments and salt and pepper shakers.
  • Sets up and keeps salad and dessert counter supplied.
  • Cleans dining room tables and chairs and vacuums dining room.
  • May perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Similar experience preferable.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and work flexible shifts.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Housekeeper for Independent Living Apartments

Location Information

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Performs housekeeping duties in the resident apartments and common areas of the community.
  • Cleans (dust, dry mop, wet mop, sanitize, scrub) assigned resident apartments and common areas daily according to facility procedures.
  • Disposes of trash and waste, other materials in a safe manner.
  • Maintains par levels of supplies and assists with ordering of products.
  • Washes and folds laundry. Distributes clean linens and towels. Maintains a stocked cleaning cart with needed items.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
  • Appreciates the importance of maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information.
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property.
  • Able to understand and to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Understand proper use of community equipment.
  • Able effectively to communicate with the staff members and residents through verbal and/or written means.
  • Sufficient mobility and strength to move freely through the building and to assist transfer or otherwise move residents of facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral form) in a care setting with residents, families, staff.
  • Must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, stand for extended periods of time and may be required to move furniture.
  • Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned.
  • Ability to detect odors and see spots and spills.
  • Ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment.
  • Passion for caring for elderly.

Certified Medication Aide

Qualifications

  • This is the job of the Medication Aide to administer oral and external medications to residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse.
  • Follows current standards of hygiene, safety and infection control when handling, storing and disposing of medications.
  • Administers medications within 60 minutes of scheduled time.
  • Takes and records vital signs upon administration of medications when required.
  • Recognizes the resident’s right to refuse medication.
  • Notifies the appropriate RN/LPN when making the decision not to administer medication or treatment.
  • Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed nurse (RN/LPN).
  • Monitors residents who self-administer medications and report deviation from the plan of care to the licensed or registered nurse.
  • Secures medication cart.
  • Removes discontinued, outdated or deteriorated drugs from inventory.
  • Recognizes and reports unsafe conditions for medication provision.
  • Accurately documents medication provision.
  • Recognizes and reports general reactions to medications.
  • Recognizes the limitations of the Medication Aide role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination.
  • Successful completion of a state approved Medication Aide course and is approved to administer oral and external medication.
  • Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
  • Strong communication skills.

Resident Assistant

Location Information

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Gives report to the Nurse or designated charge person at the end of the shift.
  • Reports any changes to the Nurse or designated charge person immediately for determination of contacting the on-call Nurse.
  • Reminding residents to take medication, opening containers for residents, opening prepackaged medication for residents, reading the medication label to residents, observing residents while they take medication, checking the self-administered dosage against the label of the container, and reassuring residents that they have obtained and are taking the dosage as prescribed.
  • Supervise, assist or provide showers and baths.
  • Supervise, assist residents to dress/undress.
  • Assure the cleanliness and dignity of each resident.

Qualifications

  • Vital signs; Medication supervision (within the scope of the state regulations);
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification desired (unless required by the state).
